White Jewelers armed robbery


     On Thursday July 12, 2012 at 1028 hours, the York Area Regional Police Dept. was dispatched to White Jewelers located at 204 St. Charles Way, York, PA 17402 within York Twp, York County, PA, for an armed robbery that had just occurred. York County Control advised responding units that shots were fired and a shooting victim was on scene.

      1032 hours, officers entered the business and observed the victim/store owner on the floor of the business behind a jewelry case bleeding profusely. He told the officer he had been shot three times. Emergency Medical personnel arrived a short time later and transported him to a local hospital for his injuries. It appeared, he had been shot in the left arm, chest, and stomach.
     Investigators interviewed a witness who was on the sidewalk outside of the jewelry store, when the robbery occurred. He told investi gators, two black males entered the jewelry store and with in a short time came back one came back out and told the driver he needed help inside. The driver who was also a black male got out of the light green Hyundai Elantra (Pa. Reg. DHR-5331) and entered the store. He heard gun shots and then saw the three subjects exit the store and get into the vehicle and leave the area traveling south on St. Charles Way. 
     A short time later a York Area Regional Officer located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Powder Mill Apartments on Dew Drop Rd. The vehicle was still running but was not occupied. A neighbor at that location advised the responding officers, he witnessed four black males pull up in a black Chevrolet Impala (PA Reg#HXH-7313) and park next to a the light green Hyundai. He watched as they left in the Elantra and a few minutes later, returned and got back into the black Chevrolet Impala and fled the area.  A records check indic ated the Impala was registered to a female who lives in Allentown, PA . 
     Investigators watched the jewelry store surveillance video and observed the actors enter the business and confront the store owner.  During the confrontation, one of the actors shot the owner three times and also shot one of his accomplices as he exited from the back room.

      At 1824 hours, York Area Regional Detectives received a phone call from an FBI Agent stating one of the actors was  in a Bronx Hospital as a shooting victim, who had been shot in the stomach. The subject was being interviewed by NYPD. The subject was not being cooperative with the officers as how he got shot.  Futher investigation by York Area Regional PD, Allentown PD, NYPD and FBI as resulted in additional warrant issued in this case.
