De Beers Canada Victor Mine presented a 1.14 carat Princess of Hearts diamond valued at nearly $13,000 to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation in support of the 14th Annual Days Inn Spring Ball Lottery. The lottery alone raises over $100,000 for the hospital and proceeds are allocated directly towards the purchase of two x-ray machines for patients in the John P. Larche Medical Imaging and Cardiopulmonary Department at the Timmins & District Hospital (T&DH). The winning lottery tickets will be drawn at the 14th Annual Days Inn Spring Ball which will take place on Saturday, May 5th at the Days Inn and Conference Centre.

Through the donation of a Victor Diamond to the Timmins and District Hospital we are able to reach families across Northern Ontario by helping raise much needed funds for important hospital equ ipment”, said Rory Greyvensteyn, Mine General Manager, De Beers Canada Victor Mine.

This is the third diamond since 2009 that De Beers Canada Victor Mine has donated in support of fundraising efforts. The Victor Mine is a remote fly-in/fly-out operation with the majority of the workforce residing in northern Ontario. The T&DH is a key community partner of the Victor Mine as a provider of quality health care in the region.
