AGTA Collection Impresses Editors at JIC Jewelry Preview

The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) assembled a beautiful array of jewelry for the annual Jewelry Information Center (JIC) Jewelry Preview, held in New York City last week.  The event attracts top fashion, bridal and trade editors to view new jewelry designs.  The AGTA Collection showcased two dozen colored gemstone and cultured pearl pieces from 14 AGTA Member designers.
“It is very important for AGTA to have a presence at this event to keep colored gemstones and pearls at the top of these influential editors’ minds,” stated Douglas K. Hucker, AGTA CEO.  “Color is playing such a strong part in fashion that we see this event as an opportunity for us to show these editors a wide range of jewelry from classic to contemporary styles in a plethora of different colors.”
“I make it a priority to attend the annual Fine Jewelry Editor Preview in New York City, and I especially look forward to seeing the AGTA Collection at that event. Because what I’ve consistently found is that the American Gem Trade Association never disappoints in
assembling for us what I see as ‘a teaser’: artistry from emerging designers we may not know of yet but who are passionate about colored gemstones and pearls . . . design innovation by established gem craftspeople . . . and pieces that give us editors ‘clues’ to
wha t’s next in terms of gemstone type, cut, and color,“ said Lorraine Depasque, freelance writer/editor/blogger.
The next AGTA Collection will be assembled for the Primetime Emmy Awards in September.
