The fourth annual SMART Jewelry Show wrapped up today, marking another successful event for independent retailers and their suppliers.
“This year’s attendance numbers were our highest ever,” said Jim Reed, show director. “The vibe on the floor was exceptionally positive, and buyers were serious about doing business. That intangible is far more difficult to influence than attendance numbers, but far more important. Overall, we’re very pleased.”
Nancy Kesselman, director of sales and development for Bernard Nacht & Co., has exhibited in all four SMART Shows. “We look forward to coming every year,” she said. “We have a following here now, and we always find new customers. The people running the show are great to work with, too. So we’re very, very excited for the Dallas show.”
Ujay Zaveri, owner of Simran Collection, Inc., was exhibiting in the show for the first time. “It exceeded my expectations – we’ve got a lot of new contacts,” he said. “This show is different because people are willing to stop and take a look; the bigger shows are like zoos. I was also happy with how well the show is organized. We’ll be coming back next year, and have already registered for the Dallas show.”
Retailers also had positive things to say. “I was so impressed with The SMART Show,” Liz Broussard Bryan, owner of Classic Charms, said on Facebook. “This was my first year attending and I will return next year. Great education, great size show floor, great SMART Stations and kudos for the Brain Squad lounge — great place to relax and eat!”
The SMART Show returns to Chicago’s Navy Pier April 13 – 15, 2013, with the education conference beginning a day prior to the show.
