Dec? fine jewellery, which was launched in 2008,will debut at IJL show in September 2010.

Dessy Tsolova, the founder and designer of dec? draws inspirations for her designs from her cultural heritage and travels. Growing up in Eastern Europe and unable to travel abroad under the communist regime, her family travelled extensively within the country. Visiting the remains of old Roman ruins, historic monasteries and churches that survived the Ottoman rule or simply admiring in museums the many treasures found around the country dating as far back as the Byzantine times, has left Dessy with strong influences and inspirational memories.

Her passion for jewellery was sparked off when she lost a much loved carved emerald ring she had gifted herself. The loss of it spurred her on to travel to India in search of a replacement. An adventurous trip followed and a chance introduction to the right “gem man” resulted in few quick ring designs. The few rings turned into a small collection, or two and the dec? fine jewellery brand was born.

The combination of classical goldsmithing techniques, custom alloys of high carat gold and exotic coloured precious stones, mixed with old age design influences has ensured that dec? fine jewellery is instantly recognisable and desirable.

dec? jewellery is divided into three distinctive collections – Classic, Delphi and Roma. All three collections are made with 18k yellow gold. The bold use of carved emerald stones and the use of old techniques in working and finishing the metal brings each piece to life. All stones are individually selected, ensuring that no two pieces can ever be exactly the same. This further adds to the uniqueness of each and every piece.

Classic Collection:
Timeless and elegant, the Classic Collection pays homage to the art of carving emeralds. Various shades of carved emerald stones are offset against rich yellow gold. The combination of brushed and shiny finish, together with the simple, clean lines of the designs bring the beauty of the stones into life of their own. The collection features rings, earrings, necklaces and pendants.

Delphi Collection:
Inspired by Greek mythology and the ancient city of Delphi, known as the “navel” of the world, the Delphi collection is bold and earthy. 18k warm yellow gold is hammered into circular shapes, round cabochon stones glisten inviting to be touched and tried on. The collection features rings, earrings and necklaces.

Roma Collection:
Golden strands of wire, wrapped hastily around carved emeralds, as if to trap the stone and protect it is the instant image the Roma collection of pieces evokes in the mind. Small yet powerful, this is an earthy collection that plays with the notion of rough and refined, putting them together and instantly creating objects of desire. The collection comprises of rings, earrings and pendants.
